In January 2021, UK Friends of the MCT approved a grant for funding to the Salvation Army Children’s Home, which provided:
Three (3) dining sets to seat up to 18 persons
One (1) small-sized dining set to seat up to six (6) toddlers
Two (2) large tables, chairs and white board for a classroom area
Monthly Grocery Allowance
Stipend Contribution for two (2) House Mothers
Kitchen cookware, utensils and children-safe dinnerware
All furniture was built by a small business carpenter who welcome the income provided by this project.
La Soufrière Volcano erupted shortly after and delayed the project somewhat. Nonetheless, the project was fully completed in May 2022 and the Home is now outfitted with much needed furniture and kitchen necessity which will used at the Home for years to come.
It was indeed heartening to work together with the Salvation Army and the Carpenter and see the fruition of this Grant, which contributes towards the comfort, health, education and well-being of these children.
It is hoped that this assistance will afford these children, who already face unfortunate circumstances, the love and care deserving of every child.
