Sailing Programme

In 2017, a group of people, including expatriates living in Bequia, who wanted to reinvigorate Youth Sailing in Bequia, formed Junior Sailing Academy Bequia (JSAB), a non-profit organisation based in Bequia.

JSAB manages the entire Academy through the generosity of donors and volunteers and focuses on two (2) main objectives. The first objective is to introduce children from the ages of 6 to 16 to sailing.  The second objective is to introduce the older members to Royal Yachting Association (RYA) certification to enable them to gain employment in the marine industry.

Through their structured education and training programme, JSAB offers training support in both sailing skills and theory and has harnessed the sailing skills of many youths in Bequia. For those with the aptitude, this training leads to their success in obtaining the RYA Certification, which opens up a number of alternative career opportunities in the yachting, sailing and fishing industries.
