Tackling Poverty, Building Local Communities Fund
Support is given to young persons in rural communities to develop the skills and opportunities needed to earn an income. Projects funded by the Trusts include donations of seedlings and fruit trees to farmers. Parenting and vocational skills training for single unemployed mothers in rural areas have encouraged improved child care and entrepreneurship. The Trusts have also promoted sales opportunities for local craft by hosting two craft fairs in Mustique.
In times of disaster the Trusts help where they can by assisting with essential house repairs, building new homes, the distribution of much needed water and clothing and recently making a contribution towards the purchase of a new school bus to replace one involved in a tragic accident in which ten students lost their lives
